Board of Commissioners

Board Meetings

In 2002, OHA Board Chairman, Michael Landon, was awarded Commissioner of the Year by the Jackson, MS, HUD office. Dr. Landon has been associated with public and assisted housing in various roles since the late 1960s. OHA is very proud of its Commissioners and the vital role they play in our successful housing programs.

The Board of Commissioners for the Oxford Housing Authority consists of five members appointed by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Oxford. Each Commissioner is appointed for a five year term with one Commissioner rotating off or reappointed every April. The role of the Board of Commissioners is to set policy and ensure that the Authority and its operations are in compliance with regulations set forth by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Day to day operations of the Authority are the responsibility of the Executive Director, not the Board of Commissioners. As you may imagine, it takes many years to learn all that a Commissioner needs to know to function in the best interest of the Authority. OHA is very fortunate to have experienced Commissioners dedicated to the best interests of the families we so proudly serve.

The Board of Commissioners meets quarterly in January, April, July and October. The exact date, time and location of these meetings are posted at the offices of the Authority, 900 Molly Barr Road. These meetings are open and the public is welcome to attend.

Our part time Staff Attorney is J. Rhea Tannehill of Tannehill Law Firm in Oxford.
